What the label says.

On every label

• The dish, with its size and options, and every add-on and choice.
• Contains, then May contain: the same allergen line as the dish on the menu, for what you ordered.
• How it is held: hot, chilled, cold or at room temperature.
• For a dish you reheat, the reheating steps, with oven temperatures in degrees Fahrenheit (°F).
• A best-before date, where the dish has one.

The same reheating steps are printed on the dish's card on the menu, so you can read them before you order.

How it travels, and what the label says

Travels hot.

The label says "HOT: serve within 2 hours, or hold hot at 140 °F or above."

Travels cold.

The label says "COLD: keep at 40 °F or colder until served."

Travels chilled; you finish it at home.

The label says "CHILLED: keep at 40 °F or colder until reheated."

Travels at room temperature.

The label says "AMBIENT: keep covered at room temperature."

Trays from THE SOCIAL

Trays arrive chilled with reheating instructions. Hot delivery is available on request.

A chilled tray goes in the fridge until you reheat it; its label and its card give the steps, in °F, and say what to add after heating.

Ask for "Hot" on the tray's card and it comes hot instead, for pickup or delivery: its label then says how to hold it hot, and still gives the reheating steps for the leftovers.

At room temperature

These travel at room temperature: keep them covered, out of the sun, and follow the label.

Use the right container

Heat a container only when its label says it is made for that oven or microwave. Otherwise move the food to a dish that is.

Take off any lid, cup or garnish the steps tell you to before heating, and add it back after.
